There are a number of great events related to Decision Management themes and technology platforms this October. Here’s my list so far for October 2011
- Teradata Partners Conference and Expo 2-6 October, San Diego, CA
This is a great conference for anyone using or considering Teradata. I assume that this year there will be a solid set of presentations on Aster Data as well given Teradata’s acquisition. - IM2011, From Information to Decisions 12 October, Copenhagen;
A major European BI conference that is focusing on decisions and the importance of decision-making this year. I will be giving the closing keynote in Copenhagen – “From Business Intelligence to Decision Management”
This also runs 29 September, Stockholm;26 October, Oslo; 10 November, London - Predictive Analytics World New York 17-21 October, New York
The best event for those of you interested in predictive analytics – not an academic conference but a very practical one with something to offer those looking to get started and those trying to improve their current practices.
I am giving a workshop on Decision Management and a presentation on Next Generation Claims systems. I am also participating in a panel on Predictive Marketing at the eMetrics event running in parallel. - Rules Fest 2011 23-27 October, Burlingame
Developers Conference for Reasoning Technologies “a technical conference geared toward software developers, engineers, programmers and architects who create solutions to complex computing problems using rule-engines, constraint-solvers, and other such building-blocks of practical artificial intelligence (AI).”
Two keynote speeches will be delivered by experts in artificial intelligence – Paul Haley and Dr. Said Tabet. - SAS Premuim Business Leadership Series (PBLS) 25-27 October, Orlando, FL
SAS’s big fall show, in Florida rather than Las Vegas this year. Great opportunity to hear lots of case studies and experiences presented. - IBM Information On Demand 23-27 October, Las Vegas
IBM’s Information Management show that will likely showcase business analytics again as it did last year – both SPSS and Cognos had a significant presence. - Building Business Capability – 30 October – 3 November, Fort Lauderdale, FL
Three co-located conferences Business Rules Forum, Business Analysis Forum, Business Process Forum
Business Rules Forum 2011 Theme: Achieving True Business Agility.
Business Rules Forum is the most established and largest business rules event – “The Business Rules Forum™ is the premier Conference dedicated to Business Rules and Decisioning world-wide, Find out about how your organization can come to grips with rapid change, massive customization, and compliance in a truly scalable, traceable, manageable manner.”
I am giving a workshop on using Decision Management to maximize the value of business rules, moderating the business rules vendor panel and giving a presentation on Beginning with the decision in mind.
And that usually wraps it up for the season.
