There is a growing range of solutions that include powerful decisioning engines but that are not general purpose business rules platforms - Chordiant, Unica, Oracle RTD, Convergys - and I think many companies will find themselves using <a href="http://jtonedm.com/2009/12/01/multiple-decsioning-engines-a-reader-asks/">both such a decision management application and a decisioning platform</a>.
